2024-25 Union bowling season preview
Barbourville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University bowling teams will begin their 2024-25 season on Saturday at the Bulldog Bash in Richmond, Kentucky.
To preview the upcoming season, here is a Q&A session with head coach Tom Doyle.
1. What are your expectations for this season?
We want to get back to Championship Saturday (Final Four) during the conference championships. With several new bowlers, we are looking to establish a foundation on which we can build our team for the future.
2. What goals have you set for your team?
Our main focus will be on the fundamentals of the game and applying them in key situations, especially with several new members who haven't bowled in college tournaments.
3. What strengths do you see in your team this year?
Hunter Cain seems poised to make a big leap forward this year after his freshman campaign. Charles Goguen worked on his game this summer, and we expect to see improvement from him and junior Zach Lipson.
4. Are there any newcomers or transfers who you believe could make a significant impact this season?
Laila Lambert has the tools to make an immediate impact for the women's team. I expect her to establish herself among the conference's best.
