Cain and Carter named to All-Tournament Team at Hammer Saints Classic
Newport, Ky. - The Union College men's bowling team delivered a stellar performance at the Hammer Saints Classic this past weekend. For their performances, Hunter Cain and Jeffrey Carter were each named to the All-Tournament Team.
Despite starting in seventh place on Saturday, the Bulldogs secured a sixth-place finish out of 11 teams by the end of Sunday with a total of 7408 pins. This marked a milestone for the team as it marks their highest finish of the season thus far.
Their success wasn't just team-wide; it was also reflected in the individual achievements of two standout players who earned spots on the all-tournament team.
Cain clinched second place overall with an impressive individual total of 859 pins across four games. His tournament average was 214.8 pins to go along with a game high of 238 pins.
Carter secured fifth place overall. Carter accumulated 845 pins over four games; showcasing a tournament average of 211.3 pins and a game-high of 235 pins.
Other team members also made noteworthy contributions to the Bulldogs' success. David Painter placed 46th with an individual total of 488 pins and a game-high of 201 pins. Charles Goguen, at 50th place, showcased his prowess with 475 pins and a game-high of 185.
Rieley Ulanday, Dylan Barkdoll, and Zack Lipson also played crucial roles. Ulanday secured 54th place with an impressive 367 pins with a game-high of 225.
Barkdoll placed at No. 59 with 325 pins and a game-high of 180. Lipson followed closely in 60th place with 311 pins to go with a game high of 167.
