Pikeville, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University men's basketball team fell short 62-60 at No. 23 Pikeville on Wednesday. The score was tied 60-60 when a layup by UPike went in with 0:01 remaining in the game.
The Bulldogs won the rebounding battle 39-33, while registering 25 bench points compared to 10 for UPike.
Allister Dixon led UCU in scoring with 14 points, while going 6-of-9 from the floor. Jeremiah Stroman tallied 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Sam Conley totaled nine points to go with a team-leading seven rebounds. Jabari Covington scored seven points, while Kaleb McLendon tallied six. Kenton Wright, Dallus Rufus, and Ben Underwood combined to score 12 points.
The Bulldogs are now 10-13 (6-11 AAC) this season, while Pikeville is 21-5 (14-4 AAC). Up next for UCU is a road conference game against Montreat on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 7:00 p.m.
