UCU falls at Truett McConnell

Cleveland, Ga. – The Union Commonwealth University men's basketball team played at Truett McConnell on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs fell short 76-70.

UCU's Sam Conley led all scorers with 19 points, while registering eight rebounds and two steals. He also tallied a team-leading three assists.

Dallas Rufus scored 13 points for Union. Allister Dixon came off the bench to register a double-double with 12 points and a game-leading 10 rebounds. Dixon's 10 rebounds is tied with Ben Underwood for the most in one game by a Bulldog this season.

Underwood and Brian Gilmore Jr. each tallied five points for Union. Luca Stubel, Jabari Covington, Micah Engle, Kenny Garth, and Kenton Wright also scored for UCU.

The Bulldogs were 16-of-18 at the free-throw line. UCU recorded 38 points in the paint, 27 bench points, and 16 second-chance points. Union also won the rebounding battle 35-30.

The Bulldogs are now 5-6 (2-5 AAC) this season, while Truett McConnell is 4-4 (2-3 AAC). Up next for UCU is a home game against Lindsey Wilson on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 4:00 p.m.
