
Union falls at No. 18 Cumberlands
Williamsburg, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University men's basketball team played at No. 18 Cumberlands on Saturday. The Bulldogs trailed by six points at the half, but Cumberlands went on to win 88-71.
Jeremiah Stroman led UCU in scoring with 15 points off 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. Ben Underwood tallied 12 points. Luca Stubel tallied nine points, while Sam Conley recorded eight.
Kaleb Hedgepeth and Allister Dixon each totaled seven points. Kenton Wright and Dallas Rufus combined to score 11 points, while Sam Parrish scored two points.
Hedgepeth tallied six rebounds, which led the team. Underwood and Stroman each registered five rebounds. Conley led UCU in assists with three, while also recording both of Union's blocks. Stubel and Rufus each tallied two steals, which led Union in that category.
The Bulldogs are now 1-1 this season, while Cumberlands is 5-0. Up next for Union is a home game against Bluefield on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
