Union overcomes double-digit deficit to defeat Bryan

Dayton, Tenn. – The Union College men's basketball team extended its winning streak to 10 games with Wednesday's 78-69 win at Bryan. The Bulldogs trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half. Union won the rebounding battle 32-21.

Markelle Turner led all scorers with 27 points, while going 8-of-14 from the floor. Turner's 27 points is the most he's scored this season.

Will Bailey tallied 18 points in addition to five rebounds and four assists. Markelo Sullivan registered 11 points, nine rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks. Sullivan led the Bulldogs in rebounds, assists, and blocks.

Sullivan, Turner, and Bailey were three of the four players that were tied for the most steals in the game with two. Terrin Hamilton, Anton Mozga, Jay Falls, and Sam Conley also scored for Union. Hamilton registered seven rebounds, which was the second most by any player.

With the win, Union is guaranteed a share of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) regular season title. A win in the Bulldogs' next game would give Union the title outright.

The Bulldogs are now 21-6 (20-3 AAC) this season, while Bryan is 15-12 (13-11 AAC). Senior Day is up next for Union as the Bulldogs will host KCU on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 4:00 p.m.
