Union wins 90-89 at Tennessee Wesleyan

Athens, Tenn. – The Union College men's basketball team picked up a 90-89 road victory on Wednesday night against Tennessee Wesleyan. Five Union Bulldogs scored in double figures with Markelle Turner leading all scorers with 21 points off 8-of-11 shooting from the floor.

Union took a 10-point lead with 5:02 remaining in the second half off a 3-pointer by Turner. Tennessee Wesleyan trimmed the Bulldogs' lead, but Union was able to get the victory.

Deonte Douglas tallied 19 points and five assists, while Markelo Sullivan recorded 16 points and seven rebounds. Terrin Hamilton recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Hamilton also tallied five assists and three steals.

Will Bailey registered 10 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs. Sam Conley tallied six points. Kaleb McLendon, Anton Mozga, and Jay Falls also scored for Union.

The Bulldogs are now 19-6 (18-3 AAC) this season, while Tennessee Wesleyan is 9-13 (9-12 AAC). Union is on an eight-game winning streak. Up next for Union is a road conference game at St. Andrews on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 12:00 p.m.
