Union defeats Truett McConnell to become 11-0 in home games this season

Barbourville, Ky. – The Union College men's basketball team defeated Truett McConnell 98-75 on Saturday. Union led by as many as 25 points. Five Bulldogs scored in double figures.

Markelle Turner broke a school record in the matchup as Turner now has 302 made 3-point field goals in his career. The record was previously held by Doug Wilkins with 300. Turner finished the game with 17 points.

Markelo Sullivan led all scorers with 21 points, while also leading all players in rebounds with seven. Terrin Hamilton was Union's second-leading scorer with 20 points. Deonte Douglas tallied 14 points and a game-leading nine assists.

Will Bailey tallied 10 points for Union, while going 5-of-7 from the floor. Sam Conley, Drew Rhodes, Sean Reece, Anton Mozga, Jahloni Mitchell, and Omari Glover also scored for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs are now 18-6 (17-3 AAC) this season, while Truett McConnell is 10-14 (8-12 AAC). Up next for Union is a road matchup at Tennessee Wesleyan on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 6:00 p.m.
