The Bulldogs fall at No. 11 Freed-Hardeman

Henderson, Tenn. – The Union College men's basketball team had a tough test on Saturday with an away game against No. 11 Freed-Hardeman. The Bulldogs were an impressive 14-of-29 from 3-point range, but fell short 89-79.

The Bulldogs entered the second half trailing 53-39. A pair of successful free throws by Union's Anton Mozga with 7:41 to play cut the deficit to five points, but the Lions went on to extend their lead en route to the win.

Markelo Sullivan scored 21 points, which was tied for the most by all players. He registered 18 points in the first half.

Markelle Turner tallied 19 points in the game, while Terrin Hamilton registered 14 and Anton Mozga recorded 10. Deonte Douglas, Sam Conley, and Will Bailey accounted for the other 15 points.

Sullivan was 5-of-9 from 3-PT range, while Hamilton was 4-of-7; Turner was 3-of-7; and Conley was 2-of-4. The Bulldogs were 15-of-20 from the free-throw line.

The Bulldogs are now 9-5 this season, while Freed-Hardeman is 10-2. Up next for Union is a conference home game against Montreat on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 7:30 p.m.
