Union defeats Bryan 82-78 in OT as Hamilton scores 27, while Sullivan records double-double

Barbourville, Ky. – The Union College men's basketball extended its winning streak to five games with Tuesday's 82-78 overtime win against Bryan. The Bulldogs also advanced to 5-0 in home games this season.

Bryan led 15-7 with 13:38 to play in the first half, but the Bulldogs led 36-29 at halftime. Union led by double digits in the second half, but the score was close near the end of regulation.

A layup by Union's Deonte Douglas tied the score at 69-69 with 0:03 seconds remaining. In OT, the Bulldogs led by as many as seven points en route to an 82-78 victory.

Union's Terrin Hamilton led all scorers with 27 points to go along with nine rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. The Bulldogs' Markelo Sullivan recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while also registering three assists and three steals. Sullivan's 12 rebounds led all players.

Will Bailey was one of three Bulldogs to score in double-figures as he tallied 12 points off 6-of-7 shooting from the floor. Douglas accounted for nine points, while Markelle Turner and Sam Conley each recorded seven. Anton Mozga and Cam Bartmann also scored for Union.

The Bulldogs are now 9-4 (8-2 AAC) this season, while Bryan is 6-6 (4-6 AAC). Up next for Union is a matchup at No. 12 Freed-Hardeman on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 1:00 p.m.
