The Bulldogs take down Bluefield 78-76

Bluefield, VA - The Union College men's basketball team played at Bluefield on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs defeated Bluefield 78-76.

In the first half, Union's Terrin Hamilton led all scorers with 19 points off 8-of-11 shooting from the floor. He also registered two steals in the opening half. Will Bailey tallied seven points for the Bulldogs in the first half, while three others also scored for Union.

In the second half, Union's Markelo Sullivan led the team in scoring with 10 points, while going 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Hamilton, Sam Conley, and Anton Mozga each scored nine points, while two others scored as well for Union.

Hamilton finished the game with a season-high 28 points, while going 10-of-17 from the floor and 4-of-8 from 3-point range.

Sullivan registered a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double. Following this game, Sullivan ranks third in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in PPG (18.3) and second in the AAC in RPG (9.2).

Conley scored 12 points, while going 4-of-6 from 3-PT range. Anton Mozga registered nine points, while Markelle Turner recorded eight; Bailey tallied seven; and Jay Falls recorded two. The Bulldogs were 11-of-27 from 3-point range and 23-of-28 at the free-throw line.

Turner and Sullivan each tallied five assists, which tied for the most by any player. Hamilton led all players in blocks with three.

The Bulldogs are now 6-4 (5-2 AAC), while Bluefield is 2-7 (2-4 AAC). Up next for Union is a home conference matchup against Tennessee Wesleyan on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m.
