Union defeats No. 3 Arizona Christian 93-84

Kingsport, Tenn. – The Union College men's basketball team picked up a 93-84 victory over No. 3 Arizona Christian on Saturday, Nov. 25, in The Show. Union led by as many as 19 points.

Terrin Hamilton tallied 17 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks in the first half, while going 7-of-10 from the floor. Anton Mozga registered eight points in the first half. Union led 42-40 at halftime.

In the second half, Markelle Turner tallied 18 points off 7-of-11 shooting from the floor and 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.

Hamilton and Sam Conley each tallied 11 points in the second half. Conley was 3-of-5 from 3-PT range in the second half. The Bulldogs led 85-66 with 3:41 remaining in the game. Union won by a final score of 93-84. The Bulldogs have scored at least 93 points in three of Union's nine games this season.

Union had four players score at least 13 points. Hamilton led all players in scoring and rebounding with a 28-point, 14-rebound double-double. He was 9-of-13 from the floor; 3-of-6 from 3-PT range; and 7-of-7 from the free-throw line.

Turner finished the game with 21 points, while Conley tallied 16 and Mozga registered 13. Markelo Sullivan recorded six points, five rebounds, and five assists. Deonte Douglas scored five points, while Will Bailey tallied four.

Union registered 33 bench points, while Arizona Christian recorded nine. The Bulldogs tallied 29 second chance points; Arizona Christian registered seven.

The Bulldogs are now 5-4, while Arizona Christian is 6-1. Up next for the Bulldogs is a road conference game against Bluefield on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 7:30 p.m.
