Union comes up short against Florida Memorial

Kingsport, Tenn. – The Union College Bulldogs faced Florida Memorial on Friday, Nov. 24. The matchup was the first of two for the Bulldogs this weekend in The Show, which is being held in Kingsport, Tenn.

The Bulldogs recorded a 16-0 run in the first half, which was sparked off a 3-pointer by Terrin Hamilton. The run was capped off with a 3-pointer by Markelo Sullivan.

Union led 23-15 with 12:26 to play in the first half. At halftime, the Bulldogs trailed 45-41. Union scored 31 points in the second half as Florida Memorial went on to win the game 85-72.

Sullivan led Union in scoring and rebounding with 24 points and eight rebounds. He was 8-of-15 from the floor, which included being 4-of-10 from 3-PT range.

Deonte Douglas tallied 19 points for Union to go along with three steals. Douglas was 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. Markelle Turner was one of three Bulldogs to score in double figures as he tallied 11 points.

Hamilton recorded eight points for the Orange and Black. Will Bailey, Jahloni Mitchell, Sam Conley, and Drew Rhodes also scored for Union.

The Bulldogs are now 4-4, while Florida Memorial is 7-0. Up next for Union is a matchup against No. 3 Arizona Christian on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 6:00 p.m.
