Sullivan records a 29-point double-double as Union wins 83-74 at Johnson

Knoxville, Tenn. – The Union College men's basketball team played at Johnson on Saturday, Nov. 11, in a conference matchup. The Bulldogs led throughout the entire second half, and by as many as 17 points en route to a nine-point win.

Johnson jumped out to an early 12-4 lead, but the Bulldogs led 39-30 at halftime. Markelo Sullivan, Terrin Hamilton, and Anton Mozga each scored eight points in the first half for Union. Sullivan tallied three steals.

Union's Markelle Turner registered six points in the first half, while Will Bailey tallied five and Deonte Douglas contributed four.

The Bulldogs were 15-of-28 from the floor in the second half, while going 13-of-16 at the free-throw line on their way to an 83-74 win.

Sullivan led all scorers with 29 points off 12-of-17 shooting from the floor to go along with a game-leading 10 rebounds and a team-leading four steals.

He was one of four Bulldogs in double figures as Hamilton recorded 18, Douglas tallied 11, and Anton Mozga scored 10. Hamilton was 10-of-10 at the free-throw line, while the Bulldogs were a combined 21-of-25. Cam Bartmann recorded nine rebounds, while Hamilton had eight.

The Bulldogs are now 2-1 (2-0 AAC) this season, while Johnson is 1-3 (0-2 AAC). Up next for Union is a matchup at Montreat on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
