Barbourville, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University football team hosted the Campbellsville Tigers on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs fell short 48-12.
UCU's first touchdown of the game came off a 20-yard touchdown run by quarterback Bryson Grabowski with 8:00 to play in the third quarter. Later in the third, Grabowski connected with wide receiver Tony Norman on a 50-yard TD pass.
The Bulldogs tallied 224 yards of offense, while the Tigers registered 431. UCU starting quarterback Kolton Chapman was 9-of-14 for 102 yards. Norman led Union in receiving yards with 64, while Dominic Jones led the Bulldogs in catches with five.
Defensively, Kam Bradshaw and Jamarious McClellan led all players with eight total tackles each. Ty Ellis registered six tackles, three TFLs, and two sacks. Zayne Hammack accounted for five total tackles, while Samuel Hawthorne totaled four.
The Bulldogs are now 0-2 on the season, while Campbellsville is 3-0. Up next for UCU is a road game against Thomas on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 4:00 p.m.
