Union LB Noah Steen named AAC Defensive Player of the Week

Barbourville, Ky. – Union's linebacker Noah Steen has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Defensive Player of the Week.

Steen recorded 12 total tackles, one sack, 1.5 TFLs, two pass breakups, and a 51-yard interception return for a touchdown in Union's Homecoming win over Point on Saturday.

His interception return for a touchdown extended Union's lead with 12:15 to play in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs led 20-13, which became the final score of the game.

Steen's second pass breakup of the matchup occurred on Point's final offensive possession. One of his solo tackles came in the first quarter on a fourth down stop that gave Union the possession.

The Bulldogs are now 3-4 (2-1 AAC) this season, while holding a two-game winning streak. Union is on a bye this week. The Bulldogs' next game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28, at Reinhardt. That matchup is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m.
