Union Cheer Scores Highest Finish in School History

ORLANDO, Fla. - Union College cheer made school history by placing sixth at UCA College Nationals in Orlando, Fla.

On Jan. 15, the Bulldogs competed in the Open All Girl division, which consists of NAIA and NCAA Division III schools. The team improved their placement from their previous showing in 2020 when Union placed 11th. Last year the team didn't attend the competition due to covid.

"This season, like all other teams, we have battled covid, quarantine, and injuries," said Union head coach Lisa Napier. "This team has pulled together and found a way to overcome all the obstacles placed in front of them and in turn, placing their highest ever. Myself and the team are very grateful to Union for supporting us during the year. We love our Bulldog family."

With promising recruits already promised for the 2022-23 season, the team is already looking forward to their return visit to continue to improve their ranking among some of the best in the world.

Other teams in attendance from Kentucky were Morehead State, University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University, University of Pikeville, Western Kentucky, and Northern Kentucky University.
