Union baseball defeats Alice Lloyd in midweek matchup

Pippa Passes, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University baseball team picked up a road win on Tuesday. They defeated Alice Lloyd 7-1.

The Bulldogs tallied 10 hits in the victory, led by Raebert De Los Santos, who went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. De Los Santos hit a home run, added a double, drove in two runs, and scored once.

Jayden Gonzalez added a solid 2-for-4 outing, while Ernesto Moreno went 1-for-2 with a triple. Tucker Allen, Brysen Vernon, Nick Seelman, and Trey Hollon each contributed a hit.

Hollon drove in two runs, with Moreno, Seelman, and Brendan Hillis each adding one RBI. Gonzalez scored twice, and Moreno, Allen, Vernon, and Hunter Pinkston each crossed the plate once.

Grayson Makranyi earned the start and picked up the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. He struck out five over three solid innings. He was followed by Nathan Van Beek, Eli Sizemore, Braylon Greene, Tanner Hayes, Christian McCollough, and Gunner Bleha, who each threw one inning. They combined for eight strikeouts while allowing just one run.

The Bulldogs are now 14-24 this season, while Alice Lloyd is 17-14. Up next for Union is a home conference matchup against Montreat on Friday, April 11, at 2:00 p.m.
