Union baseball falls short at Campbellsville

Campbellsville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University baseball team played a single nine-inning game at Campbellsville on Tuesday.

Cooper Tomkinson went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Logan Romasanta, Jayden Gonzalez, and Max Charlton each went 2-for-4. Brendan Hillis, Jonathan Miles, and Ryan Brown also contributed with one hit apiece.

Gunnar Kale, Tomkinson, and Charlton each crossed the plate for a run, while Isaiah Pintor, Gonzalez, and Miles drove in one RBI apiece. Miles also notched the Bulldogs' only extra-base hit with a double.

Christian McCollough got the start on the mound, pitching four innings and striking out four. Dylan Hetzler, Eli Sizemore, Grayson Makranyi, and Ethan Warren each threw an inning in relief, combining for five additional strikeouts.

The Bulldogs are now 8-19 this season, while Campbellsville is 20-8. Up next for Union is a home conference matchup against Truett McConnell on Friday, March 21, at 1:00 p.m.
