No. 10 Union falls to No. 2 Tennessee Wesleyan in AAC Tournament

Kingsport, Tenn. – The No. 10 seeded Union Commonwealth University baseball team fell short against No. 2 Tennessee Wesleyan in the AAC Tournament on Wednesday.

The first run of the game was scored by Union when an RBI single by Tyler Bean scored Mason Kelley in the top of the fourth inning. Tennessee Wesleyan was held scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning when it tied the game 1-1.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Tennessee Wesleyan recorded two runs to take a 3-1 lead. Union had two runners on base with one out in the top of the ninth, but Tennessee Wesleyan won 3-1 in nine innings.

Ethan Warren delivered every pitch in the matchup for Union. Kelley, Bean, Nathan McCabe, and Logan Romasanta combined to account for Union's four hits with one each.

Union is now 19-28, while Tennessee Wesleyan is 34-15. Up next for Union is a game against No. 3 Pikeville on Thursday, May 2, at 9:00 a.m.
