Bio

Robert Dunaway is the Head Archery Coach with deep roots in Barbourville, Kentucky, where he graduated from Barbourville High School in 1992. With over 15 years of coaching experience at both Knox County Middle School and Knox Central High School, Robert has led his teams to multiple regional tournament victories. He is a certified USA Archery Level 3 Coach.

A lifelong archer, Robert began shooting bows at age 12 and has remained dedicated to the sport for over 40 years. He played a foundational role in establishing the archery program in the Knox County School system and served as the very first National Conservation Coordinator for Scholastic 3D Archery (S3DA).

Outside of coaching, Robert owns and operates the oldest commercial hunting guide service in Kentucky and proudly serves as a member of the Knox County Sheriff’s Department. His hobbies include archery, hunting, fishing, and collecting artifacts and fossils.

Robert has been married to his wife Selina for 34 years. Together, they have two daughters: Kiersten, a wildlife biologist, and Kylie, a college student at Union. He is also the proud grandfather of Branlin.
