
Union archery captures two National Titles at Outdoor Nationals
Lansing, Mi.- The Union Commonwealth University archery team recently competed at the USA Outdoor National Championships, going head-to-head with some of the top NCAA and NAIA programs in the nation. The Bulldogs finished 8th overall in the team standings.
Official Team Rounds
The trio of Kapt Brandt, Sergio Edgar Martinez Cruz, and Chase Herndon captured the national title in the Men's Compound Team division, defeating the University of the Cumberlands with a commanding score of 223–214.
In the Men's Fixed Pins division, the team of Taylor Gwynette, Ryker Jordan, and Kason Bennett advanced to the quarterfinals. On the women's side, the Women's Compound team of Ashley Coffing, Ruthie Masengale, and Ava Neirhe also reached the quarterfinal round.
Elimination Rounds
Kyle Coffey claimed the National Championship title in Men's Barebow, earning a decisive 6–0 victory over Trapper Feuerbacher of Texas A&M in the final.
In Women's Barebow, Baylee McQueen advanced to the 1/8th round.
Chase Herndon also impressed in the Men's Compound division, advancing all the way to the final round and securing fourth place overall.
Mixed Team Events
In the Mixed Team Compound division, the duo of Brandt and Coffing reached the quarterfinals. Similarly, Coffey and McQueen advanced to the quarterfinal round in Mixed Team Barebow.
