Union archery recap of the USA Outdoor Regional Championship

Williamsburg, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University archery team recently competed in the USA Outdoor Regional Championship.

Ranking Round

Recurve Women
Danica Wiseman led the way for the Bulldogs in the recurve women's division, qualifying in 8th place with a total score of 402.

Compound Men
Sergio Edgar Martinez Cruz secured a 7th-place finish with a score of 681, narrowly edging out teammate Kapt Brandt, who followed closely in 8th place, also with a 681. Chase Herndon rounded out the group in 13th place after shooting a 673.

Women's Compound
Ava Noehre posted a strong performance, qualifying 7th with a score of 658. Ruthie Masengale finished in 16th place with a 626, while Allie Riddle claimed 19th with a score of 531.

Men's Barebow
Kyle Coffey delivered a standout showing in the men's barebow division, qualifying 3rd overall with a score of 518. Johnathan Stanley also finished in the top 10, placing 9th with a 442.

Women's Barebow

Baylee McQueen finished 9th with a score of 420, followed by Savannah McLevain in 17th place, scoring 287.

Fixed Pins Men

Ryker Jordan qualified 13th in the fixed pins division with a score of 614. Taylor Qwynette followed in 15th place with a 603, while Preston Thompson was close behind in 17th, finishing with a 573. Kason Bennett rounded out the Bulldogs' efforts in 21st place, scoring 499.

Fixed Pins Women

Abigail Warren placed 16th in the women's fixed pins division, shooting a score of 606.

 

Official Team Rounds

​​In the men's compound team event, Cruz, Brandt, and Herndon combined for a third-place finish with a total score of 218. On the women's side, the team of  Noehre, Masengale, and Riddle earned a fourth-place finish, posting a combined score of 204.

 

Mixed Team Rounds

In the compound mixed team division, Sergio Martinez Cruz and Ave Noehre earned a strong second-place finish with a score of 146. In the barebow mixed team event, Coffet and McQueen claimed third place, finishing with a score of 32 (2).

Rounding out the mixed team performances, Jordan and Warren placed fourth in the fixed pins division, recording a score of 135.

 

Elimination Rounds
Coffey earned a runner-up finish in the men's barebow division, scoring 24 to secure second place.

 

Next for the Bulldogs is the USA Archery Outdoor National Championships on Thursday, May, 15.
