Coffey and Coffing secure top-three finishes at the 2024 USA Archery Collegiate 3D Regional

Williamsburg, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University archery team competed in the 2024 USA Archery Collegiate 3D Regionals on Friday. 

Kyle Coffey led the Bulldogs with an impressive first-place finish in the men's barebow competition. He posted a score of 179 in the first round, followed by 190 in the second, for a total of 369. He also recorded five twelves. 

Preston Thompson also represented the Bulldogs in men's barebow, finishing 18th with a combined score of 193 over two rounds. 

In the women's barebow event, Savannah McLevain earned a total score of 229, including one twelve, placing 20th. Baylee McQueen followed in 29th with a final score of 142. 

In the women's compound category, Ashley Coffing secured third place. She scored 208 in the first round and 210 in the second, totaling 418, with 13 twelves. 

Ruthie Masengale placed 15th in the women's compound, recording a final score of 377 with five twelves. Ava Noehre followed in 21st with a score of 354 and one twelve. Allie Riddle took 26th place, posting a score of 293 with three twelves. 

In men's compound, Kapt Brandt achieved the highest finish for the Bulldogs, securing fifth place with a total score of 432 and 19 twelves. Close behind was Chase Herndon, who also scored 432, placing sixth with 17 twelves.

Evan Miller finished in eighth place with a score of 424, also shooting 19 twelves. Sergio Edgar Martinez Cruz took 12th place with a total score of 409 and 12 twelves. 

In women's recurve, Danica Wiseman, the sole Bulldog competitor, finished 11th with a total score of 328 and four twelves. 

Ryker Jordan led the Bulldogs in the men's fixed pins division, placing 14th with a score of 385 and 13 twelves. Carter Shinavier followed in 16th place with a score of 373 and six twelves, while Taylor Gwynette finished 17th with a score of 373 and four twelves. 

Kason Bennett placed 24th with a final score of 334 and four twelves, while Braylon Greene rounded out the group in 25th place with a score of 330 and two twelves.

Up next for the Bulldogs is the 2024 MSC 3D Championships on Saturday, Sept. 21.
