Bio

Tim Curry was named the Executive Director of Athletics in July of 2019. He first began serving in the role of Interim Director of Athletics in August 2011 and had the interim removed from his title in May of 2013.

Curry first came to Union as the head coach of the women's basketball program. He spent 18 years at the helm of the Bulldogs from 2001-19 and compiled a 331-235 overall record, leaving as the program's all-time winningest coach. Prior to coming to Union, he spent six seasons as the head women's basketball coach at Bluefield College (Va.) and posted a 96-112 record with the Rams. Curry ended his coaching career with a 427-347 overall record.

Here are highlights from Curry's time as the Bulldogs' head coach:

  • Five NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament appearances;
  • Five Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament championships;
  • Two AAC regular-season championships;
  • Seven NAIA All-Americans, including two Second Team honorees and three Third Team selections;
  • Five AAC Players of the Year;
  • Two AAC Freshmen of the Year;
  • One AAC Defensive Player of the Year;
  • 33 All-AAC Team members with 14 First Team selections;
  • Eight 20-win seasons.

During his time, Curry has overseen several facility improvements on Union's campus, including the construction of the Dan L. Sullivan Indoor Practice Facility, the installation of lights at Williamson Stadium, the installation of a new gym floor and seating in Robsion Arena, and several other projects.

Curry also spent four seasons as the head coach of the Bulldog softball team (2001-04) and two seasons over the women's golf program (2004-06).

In addition to being the women's basketball coach at Bluefield, Curry  served as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Men's Golf Coach following a two-and-a-half-year stint as Interim Director of Athletics at the AAC school.

A 1989 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky., Curry began his coaching career at his alma mater in several different positions including Assistant Women's Basketball Coach, Assistant Baseball Coach, and Head Women's Softball Coach. Curry also spent one season at St. Catharine Junior College in Springfield, Ky., as the Head Women's Basketball Coach and Head Baseball Coach.

Curry is married to the former Susan Feltner of Manchester, Ky., and they reside in Manchester. The couple has two children - a son, Jacob Austin, and a daughter, Madison Leigh.
