Bio

Chris Gibson serves as the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) at Union. In this role, he oversees athletic eligibility and serves as a key liaison between academics and athletics within the UCU Athletic Department—a position he has held dating back to 2021. The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) named Gibson as the 2024-25 Dr. Larry Inkster Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) of the Year.

A native of Barbourville, Kentucky, Gibson graduated from Knox Central High School in 2010. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education from Union. He later obtained a master’s degree in Health and Human Performance from the University of the Cumberlands and completed his Doctorate of Health Science at A.T. Still University.

Gibson and his wife, Katie, reside in Barbourville with their daughter, Lucy.
