Sport Assignments: Volleyball and Men's Basketball

Shea Hoffman serves as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Union College. A native of South Charleston, West Virginia, she is a 2014 graduate of South Charleston High School, where she was a multi-sport athlete, competing in volleyball, cheerleading, and track & field.

Shea continued her athletic and academic journey at Concord University in Athens, WV, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training in 2018 while playing volleyball for the Mountain Lions from 2014 to 2018. She later pursued graduate studies at Union College in Barbourville, KY, where she earned her Master’s degree in Athletic Administration in 2020.

Professionally, Shea gained experience as the primary athletic trainer for the cross country and track & field programs at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL, from 2020 to 2021. She returned to Union College in the fall of 2021 and has since been a key part of the athletic training staff. In addition to her athletic training duties, she also serves as a volunteer assistant coach for Union’s volleyball program (2023–2025).

Outside of work, Shea enjoys crocheting, reading, and playing video games. She shares her home with two cats, Kitty and Luna, and a dog named Harry. She also has one sibling.
