Bio

Clay Butler is the Vice President of Athletics and a seasoned leader in athletic training and sports administration. A native of St. Cloud, Florida, he graduated from St. Cloud High School in 1999. He is a proud third-generation graduate of Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Education (2003), Master of Health Education (2005), and Master of Business Administration (2023). Union holds a special place in his heart—not only for its academic significance but also because it's where he met his wife, Andra.

Clay began his professional career as an assistant athletic trainer in 2003 and was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in 2006. His early experience includes serving as a Student Athletic Training Intern with the Cincinnati Bengals from 2000 to 2002 and with the Arizona Cardinals from 2002 to 2003.

He holds certifications as a Certified Athletic Trainer and is a Kentucky Licensed Athletic Trainer.

Clay lives in Barbourville, Kentucky, with his wife Andra and their two sons, Hudson and Griffin. He is actively involved in the community through East Barbourville Baptist Church and enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his sons’ little league teams.
