The Bulldogs win in three sets at St. Andrews

Laurinburg, N.C. – The Union Commonwealth University volleyball team picked up a win at St. Andrews on Saturday morning. The Bulldogs won 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-13.)

Union tallied 39 kills, while UCU's Raquel Kessler led all players with 15. Berkli Benefield, Emily Shumaker, Yanelis Turbi, Katherine Acosta, and Luisa Slompo combined to record 24 kills.

Maddy McGaughey led all players in assists with 17, while Turbi accounted for 14. The Bulldogs were led in digs by Kessler with 13, while Lara Gomes De Castro registered 11 and Nicole Almestica recorded seven.

The Bulldogs are now 8-11 (6-3 AAC) this season, while St. Andrews is 0-16 (0-9 AAC). Up next for UCU is a home conference match against Bryan on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m.
