Union women’s outdoor track and field Margaret Simmons Invite recap

Murray, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University women's outdoor track and field team recently competed at the Margaret Simmons Invite.

Erin Pease led the Bulldogs with a strong all-around performance, finishing fifth in the heptathlon with a total score of 3,886. She placed third in the 100m hurdles, fifth in the 200m, fourth in the 800m, ninth in the high jump, eighth in the javelin, fourth in the long jump, and second in the shot put. Jasmine Clouse also represented Union in the heptathlon.

Track Events

Melanie Partin competed in the 200m, finishing with a time of 28.79. She also raced in the 400m alongside Sofia Petz, Bella Townsend, and Kaylee Hall. Partin clocked 1:06.19, followed by Petz at 1:07.33, Townsend at 1:11.97, and Hall at 1:14.85.

Abby Mabe ran a solid 800m, finishing in 2:36.43.

In the relays, the team of Petz, Hall, Townsend, and Mabe posted a time of 4:34.03 in the 4x400m. Meanwhile, Clouse, Hall, Partin, and Petz secured first place in the 4x800m relay with a time of 11:22.12.

Next for the Bulldogs is the Landon Bonds Classic on Saturday, March 29.
