Union women’s swimming and diving defeats Campbellsville

Barbourville, Ky. -  The Union Commonwealth University women's swimming and diving team competed against Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson on Saturday.

The Bulldogs defeated Campbellsville 168-99 but fell to Lindsey Wilson 169-112. They earned five first-place finishes, ten second-place finishes, and three third-place finishes. 

Manca Petrič took second in the 1000 free at 11:15.65, while Dori Józsa won the 200 free in 1:59.80. Lise Puissant placed second in the 100 back at 1:02.40 and in the 50 free at 26.16. Emma Phillips also took second in the 200 fly at 2:15.05.

Sarah Graves and Sami Sierocki took the top two spots in the 1M and 3M diving events. Graves placed first in both, scoring 201.70 in the 1M and 204.90 in the 3M, while Sierocki scored 150.30 and 116.85, respectively. Graves' 3M score earned her a national cut. She now qualifies for Nationals in both diving events.

Józsa won the 100 free in 55.09, and Puissant took second in the 200 back with a time of 2:19.36. Petrič and Józsa took the top two spots in the 500 free. Petrič finished first in 5:23.39 and Józsa followed close behind at 5:27.94.

Phillips placed second in the 400 IM at 4:43.50. To close the meet, Puissant, Petrič, Józsa, and Phillips secured second in the 200 free relay at 1:42.30.

Next up for Union women's swimming and diving is an away meet at Transylvania on Friday, Nov. 8, at 5:30 p.m.
