Yirenkyi scores twice in Union's 3-1 win over Kentucky Christian

Grayson, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University women's soccer team defeated Kentucky Christian 3-1 on Wednesday. 

Alberta Yirenkyi scored twice, marking her second multi-goal game of the season, while Alexis Schweitzer added her first goal of the year. Yirenkyi leads the team with six goals and 14 points. 

Miranda Cardona recorded two assists, tying her with Yirenkyi, Shaylynn Bentley, and Iyana Campbell for the team lead in assists. 

UCU took 18 shots, with 12 on goal, while KCU had nine shots, four of which were on goal. Chiara Isanto tallied three saves in the match.

The Bulldogs advanced to 4-3-1 (3-3 AAC) on the season, while Kentucky Christian fell to 1-8 (0-7 AAC). Up next for Union is a home match against Lindsey Wilson on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 5:00 p.m.
