No. 15 Union men’s tennis wins 5-2 over Pikeville

Barbourville, Ky. – The No. 15 Union Commonwealth University men's tennis team won 5-2 on Thursday against Pikeville. Union won two of the three doubles games to go along with four of the six singles matches.

Doubles:

Diego Garcia Gil and Daniel Caballeros (Union) defeated Anton Hofman and Martin Lorenzo 7-5.

Juan Diego Alzate and Paulo Castillo defeated Joao Cardoso and Harry Jordan (Union) 6-3.

Luke Geduldt and Harry Jordan (Union) defeated Timur Chsherbakov and Mateo Vargas 6-4.

Singles:

Diego Garcia Gil (Union) defeated Anton Hofman 6-4, 6-2.

Niccolo Chiriatti (Union) defeated Juan Diego Alzate 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Timur Chsherbakov defeated Luke Geduldt (Union) 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.

Kacper Gorecki (Union) defeated Martin Lorenzo 6-3, 6-3.

Paulo Castillo defeated Joao Cardoso (Union) 6-3, 0-6, 10-5.

Victor Bourguignon (Union) defeated Mateo Vargas 6-1, 6-2.

The Bulldogs are now 9-10 (4-2 AAC) this season, while Pikeville is 8-5 (4-4 AAC). Senior Day is up next for Union as the Bulldogs host Johnson on Friday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m.
