Union men’s swimming earns six All-American honors
Barbourville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University men's swimming team earned six All-American honors following their performance at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Nationals.
At nationals, athletes who place in the top eight of any individual event receive the prestigious First-Team All-American honor. For relays, a top-four finish secures First-Team recognition, while placing fifth through eighth earns Second-Team honors.
Both Enzo Constable and Abel Eszenyi earned three All-American honors each at the NAIA Nationals. Constable was recognized for his performances in the 100 free, 100 fly, and 50 free, while Eszenyi earned his honors in the 500 free, 400 IM, and 1650 free. Both Bulldogs are now three-time All-Americans.
"This is the first time since 2021 that we have had male All-Americans at Union," said Head Coach Ryan Winders. "Both Enzo and Abel have been swimming strong all season, and each was close to becoming National Champions in their respective events. To accomplish that as freshmen is extremely difficult, and I'm thrilled for both of them that their hard work is being rewarded. Abel earned his three All-American honors (1650, 500, 400 IM) without swimming one of his preferred events—the 200 breaststroke—while Enzo scored in the events he has been swimming all season (50, 100, 100 fly) to earn his three spots on the list. These two swimmers have hopefully set a standard for what we want Union Swimming & Diving to be in the future, and I look forward to building a strong culture based on their performances."
