Union men's swim takes second place and breaks several conference records at AAC Championships

Kingsport, Tenn. - The Union Commonwealth University men's swimming and diving team competed at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships, securing a second-place finish overall with 692 points.

Day One:

In the 200 medley relay, Zsombi Sipkai, Dmitrii Bulakh, Cezary Leiman, and Enzo Constable took second place with a time of 1:31.20. 

Abel Eszenyi won the 500 freestyle, breaking a conference record with a time of 4:35.64. Malik Biad finished second in 4:39.72. Cezary Leiman also earned a provisional cut in the 200 IM with a time of 1:58.29.

Constable won the conference title in the 50 free with a time of 20.55 and set a new conference record with a 20.24 in the prelims. 

Toby Edwards also recorded a new provisional time with a 21.29. In the 800 free relay, Eszenyi, Biad, Gergely Török, and Constable took second place with a time of 6:54.89.

Day Two:

In the 200 free relay, Jaedon Lynch, Edwards, Leiman, and Constable earned a second-place finish with a time of 1:23.30. Meanwhile, in the 400 IM, Eszenyi and Biad claimed back-to-back second and third places, with Eszenyi posting a time of 4:00.09 and Biad following closely with a 4:05.90.

Constable secured another conference title in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.59. In the 100 backstroke, Sipaki finished third with a time of 50.97. 

Sipaki, Bulakh, Leiman, and Constable teamed up to earn second place in the 400 medley relay, clocking in at 3:23.26.

Day Three:

In the 1650 freestyle, Eszenyi claimed the conference title and shattered the conference record with a time of 15:48.43. His performance also earned him a spot with an NAIA "A" cut. Meanwhile, Sipaki posted a provisional cut time of 1:55.83 in the 200 backstroke.

Constable secured another conference title and set a new conference record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.32. Meanwhile, both Mateo Daza and Edwards achieved provisional qualifying times, with Daza clocking in at 48.17 and Edwards at 48.42.

Biad claimed the conference title in the 200 butterfly, finishing in 1:51.72. The relay team of Leiman, Edwards, Lynch, and Constable earned second place in the 400 freestyle relay, posting a time of 3:03.14.
