Union men’s swimming places second at the Bulldog Invite

Barbourville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University men's swimming team competed at the Bulldog Invite last week. The Bulldogs placed second overall with a score of 712.50.

With both teams combined, Union placed second overall with a score of 1,280.50 points. The Bulldogs faced off against NAIA programs and NCAA Division II teams at the invite. These teams included Mars Hill University, King University, WVU Institute of Technology, Emory and Henry University, Shawnee State University, and Lees-McRae College.

The team of Toby Edwards, Cezary Leiman, Zsombi Sipaki, and Enzo Constable claimed victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with a time of 1:25.55.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Malik Biad secured second place with a time of 4:39.34. He recorded a national "B" cut. Gergely Török also notched a "B" cut in the same event with a time of 4:43.87.

Abel Eszenyi placed second in the 200 IM with a "B" cut time of 1:52.64, while Jaedon Lynch also achieved a "B" cut, finishing in 1:58.60. Constable took first place in the 50-yard freestyle with an "A" cut time of 19.97, while Leiman recorded a "B" cut with his time of 21.54.

The quartet of Sipaki, Dmitrii Bulakh, Leiman, and Constable claimed first in the 200-yard medley relay. They finished in 1:31.25. In the 100-yard butterfly, Constable captured another first-place finish with an "A" cut time of 48.09. In the 200-yard freestyle, Török earned a national "B" cut with a time of 1:46.16.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, three swimmers achieved"B" cut times: Bulakh(57.21), Lynch(57.34), and Biad(58.84).

Sipaki earned a "B" cut in the 100-yard backstroke. He swam a 51.36.The team of Sipaki, Bulakh, Leiman, and Constable delivered a winning performance in the 400-yard medley relay. They touched the wall at 3:22.82.

In the 400 IM, two Bulldogs posted "B" cut times: Biad (4:03.90) and Eszenyi (4:01.57). In the 1650-yard freestyle, Eszenyi claimed second place with a "B" cut time of 15:55.93, followed by Török, who also recorded a "B" cut at 16:18.90.

Constable won the 100-yard freestyle with an "A" cut time of 44.46, while Leiman earned a "B" cut with a time of 47.52. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Eszenyi placed second with a "B" cut time of 2:03.82, with Bulakh and Luke O'Mara also achieving "B" cuts.
