Waleska, Ga. - The No. 24 Union Commonwealth University men's soccer team competed against Reinhardt on Saturday night.
After a draw against No. 10 Milligan earlier in the week, the Bulldogs have clinched the number one seed in the conference tournament. Originally named co-champions with Bryan, the Bulldogs' 4-0 victory over Reinhardt has crowned them the outright Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) regular season champions.
In the win, Callum Edwards and Zak Hardman each scored two goals. Hardman had a season-high with his two goals. He brought his season total to four.
Edwards now leads the AAC with 14 goals and has accumulated the most points in the conference at 30. Tyler Wheatcroft also recorded two assists to bring his season total to eight, placing him at the top of the AAC assists leaderboard.
UCU registered 20 shots with 13 on target. Reinhardt managed eight shots, which included six on goal. Daniel Harrison tallied two saves in the matchup.
The Bulldogs are now 12-1-2 (11-0-1 AAC) this season, while Reinhardt is 4-9-4 (3-6-3 AAC). The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament announcement will be made on Monday evening.
