Thomas, Chaney compete at Midway Invite

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A pair of Union golfers took part in the Midway Eagle Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, with the men and women each having one representative for the event at the Griffen Gate Golf Club in Lexington.

For the Union women, Kiara Thomas placed 33rd overall, shooting a two-day, 25-over-par score of 169. After shooting an 86 on day one Monday, Thomas improved by three strokes on the second day Tuesday, finishing with 83.

Thomas improved upon her top-10 finish at the season opening Alice Lloyd Spring Invitational, where she shot a +36, 180.

On the men's side, Kedric Chaney shot a +26 score of 166, placing him 53rd on the scoreboard. Chaney also improved on day two, cutting six shots off his score with an 80.

Union will take part in the Mountain Empire Intercollegiate Tournament in Elizabethton, Tenn. on April 11 and 12.
