Barbourville, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University men's basketball team hosted KCU on Tuesday. The Bulldogs won 93-78, while registering 55 bench points.
Ben Underwood tallied 23 points, which was tied for the most by any player in the matchup. Underwood was 7-of-9 from the floor, 5-of-6 from 3-PT range, and 4-of-4 at the free-throw line.
His five made 3's are tied with his performance against Indiana East earlier this season for the most by any Bulldog this season.
Jabari Covington recorded 14 points, while going 7-of-10 from the floor. Kenny Garth tallied 10 points. Dallas Rufus registered eight points, six rebounds, and three steals.
Sam Conley recorded eight points, nine rebounds, and three steals. His nine rebounds were the most by any player in the matchup, while his three steals were tied for the most by any player in the game.
Jeremiah Stroman tallied seven points, while Allister Dixon totaled six. Stroman registered a team-leading six assists; while Covington, Rufus, Conley, and Dixon each tallied three assists.
Drew Rhodes and Micah Engle each accounted for five points. Brian Gilmore Jr., Kaleb McLendon, and Bryton Garrett also scored for UCU.
The Bulldogs are now 11-14 (7-12 AAC) this season, while KCU is 4-22 (4-14 AAC). Senior Day is up next for UCU as the Bulldogs will host Johnson on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 4:00 p.m.
