UCU falls at Tennessee Wesleyan

Athens, Tenn. – The Union Commonwealth University men's basketball team fell short 93-77 at Tennessee Wesleyan on Thursday. Union led by as many as 12 points in the first half.

UCU's Sam Conley led all scorers with 23 points, while registering six rebounds. Conley was 8-of-11 from the floor, 3-of-3 from 3-point range, and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.

Dallas Rufus tallied 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists. His five assists were tied for the most by any player in the matchup.

Jeremiah Stroman registered 13 points and four assists, while Ben Underwood tallied 11 points. Jabari Covington recorded seven points and a team-leading seven rebounds.

Stroman and Covington each tallied four assists. Luca Stubel contributed six points, while Allister Dixon scored two points.

Union is now 6-9 (2-7 AAC) this season, while Tennessee Wesleyan is 4-9 (3-5 AAC). Up next for UCU is a home conference game against Montreat on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 4:00 p.m.
