Union Men’s Bowling Battles Through Weekend Tournament Play

SMYRNA, Tenn. – The Union Commonwealth men's bowling team competed this weekend in the MSC Greater Nashville on Saturday and the MSC Brandon Burns Memorial on Sunday.

Both tournaments are part of the Mid-South Conference schedule and are also recognized as NAIA and USBC events. Each tournament features four team games and eight Baker games.

MSC Greater Nashville

The Bulldogs finished 16th overall, recording a team total of 3,340, a Baker total of 1,435, and a combined score of 4,775. The event featured a competitive field of more than 180 individual bowlers.

Gunner Watson led the Bulldogs with a 48th-place finish, tallying 769 pins and averaging 192.3 over four games. Hunter Cain followed, ranking 59th with a total of 746 pins and an average of 186.5.

Landon Dunlap and Ethan Segna bowled consistently, with Dunlap totaling 669 pins and averaging 167.3, while Segna recorded 653 pins and averaged 163.3 over four games.

Ryan Sheidler and Johnathon Bayne each bowled two games. Sheidler averaged 127 pins with a total of 254, and Bayne averaged 124.5 with a total of 249.

MSC Brandon Burns Memorial

The Bulldogs finished 15th overall, recording a team total of 3,710, a Baker total of 1,469, and an overall score of 5,179.

Watson again led the Bulldogs, placing 45th with a total of 800 pins and an average of 200. Dunlap followed closely in 49th, totaling 793 pins and averaging 198.3 over four games.

Cain averaged 187.3 pins with a total of 746, and Segna added 729 pins with an average of 182.3.

Up next, the Bulldogs will compete in the Roto Grip Raider Classic on Saturday, Nov. 8.
