The Bulldogs fall in First Round of NAIA Men’s Tennis National Championship

 

Mobile, Ala. – The No. 13 seeded Union Commonwealth University fell short against No. 20 seeded Dillard in the First Round of the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship.

The Bulldogs won a game in doubles competition, but Dillard won the doubles point. Dillard went on to defeat Union 4-1. The Bulldogs' lone point was registered by Victor Bourguignon.

 

Doubles:

Daniel Crownie and Daniel Sich defeated Daniel Caballeros and Diego Garcia Gil (Union) 6-2.

Yassine Ben Jemaa and Nour Salah Ibrahim defeated Harry Jordan and Joao Cardoso (Union) 6-2.

Luke Geduldt and Victor Bourguignon (Union) defeated Jesus Rodriguez and Pablo Martin 6-0.

 

Singles:

Yassine Ben Jemaa vs. Diego Garcia Gil (Union) 6-1, 3-6, 4-3 (DNF).

Nour Salah Ibrahim defeated Niccolo Chiriatti (Union) 6-4, 6-1.

Jesus Rodriguez defeated Luke Geduldt (Union) 6-1, 7-5.

Pablo Martin defeated Kacper Gorecki (Union) 6-4, 7-6.

Victor Bourguignon (Union) defeated Daniel Crownie 6-1, 6-2.

Albert Segura vs. Joao Cardoso (Union) 7-5, 2-6, 2-2 (DNF).

 

The Bulldogs are now 12-12 this season, while Dillard is 14-4.
