Marion, Ind. – The No. 12 Union College men's basketball team opened its 2023-24 season on Thursday, Nov. 2, at No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan.
The Bulldogs' Will Bailey tallied 11 points in the first half, while going 5-of-7 from the floor. Markelo Sullivan registered nine points in the opening half for Union.
Union scored 30 points in the opening half, but Indiana Wesleyan was 19-of-33 from the floor en route to leading 51-30 at halftime. The Wildcats' offensive success continued in the second half as Indiana Wesleyan won 102-66.
Sullivan led Union in scoring with 15 points, while recording five rebounds and five assists. Bailey accounted 13 points to go along with a team-leading three steals. Anton Mozga and Markelle Turner each recorded seven points.
The Bulldogs are now 0-1 this season, while Indiana Wesleyan is 2-1. Up next for Union is a home conference game against Pikeville on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m.
